Tenebrae Dark Art Market — Vendor Spotlights, Comedy Corner, Whitey’s and More!

Tenebrae Dark Art Market — Vendor Spotlights, Comedy Corner, Whitey’s and More!

About Tenebrae

Presented by @hex_collective_mpls / Hosted by @ccug.mpls

Tenebrae is taking shape.

For months, H.E.X. Collective has been building Tenebrae behind the scenes—reviewing applications, talking with artists, imagining conversations between tables, between mediums, between strangers who won’t leave as strangers.

And now we finally get to begin the part we love most: introducing you to the people who are going to fill it.

Starting this week, we’ll roll out the vendor lineup in alphabetical waves. You’ll meet jewelers working in metal and bone, illustrators, printmakers, textile artists, experimental makers, and people whose work refuses easy categories. Some are seasoned. Some are stepping into markets for the first time. All of them said yes to being part of something shared.

Every acceptance we sent was intentional. Every table is part of a larger ecosystem we’re trying to grow—one where promotion is mutual, support is visible, and artists understand that standing beside one another is more powerful than competing across aisles.

Tenebrae was never meant to be a place just to sell or buy things. We want it to be an exciting, lasting community relationship where fun experiences are had and positive collaborations are made.

So when you see these announcements start to land, follow them. Share them. Learn their work. Reach out before the event. Make plans to trade, collaborate, grab a coffee down the line. Start the connections early.

By the time the doors open, we won’t just be a lineup. We’ll be a room that already knows itself.

Sunday Spotlights

Today we begin releasing the participating artists for Tenebrae: An Unholy Market of Dark Art presented by H.E.X. Collective LLC.

Three artists will be announced each week at 10a.m., in alphabetical order, leading up to the event on March 29 from 12–4PM.

This event will feature up to 16 artists total across 13 vendor tables.

Follow along each Sunday to meet the artists and preview their work.

Host — Comedy Corner Underground

Comedy Corner Underground — Bob Edwards of 10,000 Laughs—000 Laughs Comedy Festival is Minnesota’s longest-running comedy festival, taking place every October across venues in Minneapolis and St. Paul. Founded in 2011.

When we found Bob and his space, he was the only venue who stayed in the conversation and worked with us intimately to get this market afoot. It’s because of Bob that we are considering having Tenebrae as more than an annual market.

Bob Edwards knows too well how difficult finding a space can be. Minneapolis’s original Comedy Corner Underground location closed in late August 2025 as part of the closure of its host venue, The Corner Bar. Luckily, Edwards found a spot under Whitey’s Old Town Saloon just a few months later and this weird little punk rock comedy club lives on!

Check-out their upcoming shows and impressive lineups in this cozy spot!

The Upstairs Neighbor — Whitey’s Old Town Saloon

Yes, the one with the weird wooden lady above the bar. That one.

Whitey's Old Town Saloon is an institution in Minneapolis — serving Northeast Minneapolis’ Old Town Business District for over 30 years. Open 11am - 12am, 7 days a week.
