Tenebrae is a curated dark art market bringing together artists and makers working in gothic, macabre, ritual, surreal, and transgressive forms. It’s a space for those drawn to shadow—not as emptiness, but as density. Black contains every color. Darkness is not the absence of meaning, but a place where all things exist at once.

In a political and social climate shaped by pressure, erasure, and control, dark art continues to function as a form of resistance. It names what is hidden, holds contradiction, and refuses to simplify the world for comfort.

This is first and foremost a market: a place to support artists, engage with work, and spend time in community around art that reflects the moment we’re living in.

During the event, there will also be an optional cash mutual-aid fund available for those who wish to contribute. Funds collected will be donated to a local organization selected closer to the event date, based on where need is greatest at that time. No obligation—just an opportunity.

We hope you’ll join us—to see what grows in the dark, to support the artists who work there, and to spend an afternoon where complexity is welcome.
