Founded by Emerald Von Hulsing, Andy Benson, and J. M. Liles—our maker collective is a growing community of artists, builders, and dreamers working toward one shared goal — 13 makers, a storefront supporting fringe artists who struggle to fit into traditional art spaces or their financial brackets…oh, and a music goth venue. 😈 

 

Cost

$50/month. Period. No commissions taken. 

 

What this monthly fee covers:

  • Automatic inclusion to sell retail in the store (open on weekends)
  • 0% commission fees
  • Work in the space on weekdays or weeknights using your own access code (weekends as schedule permits)
  • Shared access to community materials, tools, collective knowledge
  • Collaborate as a collective to gain access to craft fair, markets, events for lower fees application fees
  • Waived table fees for H.E.X. sponsored in-house markets (1 per vendor, per month)
  • First access to external in-house markets (1 per vendor, per month)
  • Teach & earn opportunities, set your own pricing and keep all your earnings
  • First chance to sign-up for external in-house classes taught by outside artists for a discount
  • Discounts with select neighboring businesses
  • Every artist featured in rotation once a year on the gallery wall for a solo show (if desired—no pressure!)
  • In addition to a solo exhibit—priority to book space during the week for private events at discounted cost ($20/hr)
  • Teach & earn opportunities, set your own pricing and keep all your earnings
  • FREE admission to ALL music events
  • Expanded clientele, social reach, and advertisement through collaborative promotion with the collective and collective members
  • Members first access to limited classroom spots
  • Member positions giving each artist critical experience 
  • Curated membership to ensure a safe environment, shared positive energy, and accountability to one another and the space
  • A voice in collective business and space decisions
